Level 6 The 100 Game
- PDF
Description
Children will build Large Complex Patterns using the 100 Base Cards. Why is it challenging? The 12 Large Complex Patterns are reduced in size so proportions do not match the Base Cards. It demands close attention to detail and acute visual perception.
It develops concentration, mathematical thinking, focused attention, visual discrimination, flexibility, spatial perception, symmetry and creativity while having fun.
Not only are the Complex Patterns significantly smaller than the built pattern, some Base Cards have mirror images. This requires children to become aware that things can have all of the same parts AND be different. Continued play with this activity helps children learn to look to see and understand, persevere, focus attention, compare to find mistakes and self-correct.
This activity is suitable for children age 9 and above. It will be enjoyed by both children and adults. The activity is best done alone or cooperatively with a friend, or with up to four people working together. As it is suitable for adults too, it is an excellent activity to be done cross-generationally, together with grandparents, parents or siblings, or in a mixed age learning environment.
