Letters and Songs for Smart Board

Here is a smart notebook program that will last the entire school year! I am sure your students will enjoy it as much as mine do. There are two pages for all the letters of the alphabet. The first page is where you introduce the letter and show the children the correct formation. You can call children up 1 at a time to have them practice on the smart board. There is also an “I spy” letter group where the children have to find and circle the letter. The second page is the song that corresponds to the letter. Children enjoy singing and then eventually leading the group with the song. The letter page is linked to each of the letter practice pages. All you have to do is touch one of the letters and it will bring you to that page. The home button on the bottom right corner of the song page will bring you back to the letters. The children enjoy this part too☺
I have used this in kindergarten as part of our weekly letter study. In first grade I use it to review proper letter formation and to introduce sight words in the songs.
You can print out the songs and put them together to create a songbook for your classroom. The children love reading this with a friend. You could also print them out weekly and have your students put them in their poetry journals so they can read them at any time.
