A Letter to Your Self - What are your goals for the next year, five years, and ten years?

For teachers- this is a great activity to use early in the year to get to know your students and lead them towards learning about goals.

For students - they will understand the importance of planning and goal setting, and how choices they make today will impact future aspirations. Great SEL activity.

This lesson can be facilitated in-person, remotely, or in a hybrid environment. Students will need access to a computer or other device to compose a letter to themselves as they begin a Life Skills, Career Readiness, or a Money Management Unit focusing on SMART goals.

SWBAT analyze their needs, wants, and values to make predictions on where they will be in the future in terms of one year, five years, and ten years; assess what type of planning their anticipated future might require in terms of education and financing.
