Letter O Review Games:

Use this bundle of eight fun games to review letter O phonics words with your class. With a variety of activities and challenges, rest assured that each student will gain something from each game.

Long O Phonics Review Game - Hidden Pictures Activity:

Insanely fun Long O game to keep your kiddos entertained with plenty of color, sounds and nice graphics. Teachers/students have full control as to which square goes when so it gives the opportunity to play team games or individually. You may want to give extra points for those who get it after so many squares etc.

• Words: rope, rose, nose, mole, hole, home, window, goat, boat, coat, arrow, pillow, cone, phone, road, soap, snow.
• Clicking on any of the squares/rectangles on each slide will make that shape disappear revealing part of the picture underneath. Keep revealing the picture until student(s) say the right word. Clicking the circle in the bottom right corner will remove all remaining pieces and the word will appear. Shortly after the circle will be replaced by an arrow and clicking this will turn to the next slide.

Long O Phonics Review Game - 6 Stars One Question:

You are looking at a game that requires multiple skills and will allow your student to practice reading long O phonics words. With up to six words on the screen at any time, there is ample opportunity to practice phonics with every member of the class.

• Words: rope, rose, nose, mole, hole, home, window, goat, boat, coat, arrow, pillow, cone, phone, road, soap, snow.
• There are two rounds in this game, the arrow in the bottom right will navigate you through the powerpoint.
• Round 1 - 6 Stars 1 Question Static: A question will appear in the middle of the screen and there will be six stars containing words that surround it. Choose the correct word for each question. Correct answer will flash, incorrect will dim. (8 questions)
• Round 2 - 6 Stars 1 Question Moving: Similar concept to round 2 but this time after seeing the clue, the six stars will fly in and out across the screen one-by-one. Quickly click on the correct star. If you fail there is a chance to repeat the slide. There is a quick ready message before each question, this will move on automatically. (9 questions)

A simple yet effective way to practice saying key Short O vocabulary. There is a variety of ways to get all students involved either in a team format, one-by-one or just a classroom free-for-all! There is real focus on each word as students wait patiently for more squares to disappear.

This game is a great way to practice Short O and gives the teacher complete control over the difficulty and game time. With ample time to review each picture, the speed of the game will offer a different kind of challenge. Each student will be able to practice the 17 words and most are repeated more than once throughout.

• 50 variations (rounds).

• First you have time to review - if necessary.

Six pictures is the perfect game to practice recognizing and reading key short O phonics words. With 17 questions, plenty of color and fascinating graphics, there is plenty of time to practice reading and it will be easy to get the whole class involved.

Coordinates give extra options to how you wish to use the game (e.g. team work, individual assessment etc.)
