Learning Goals and Scales NGSS

This PowerPoint is packed with 28 slides of learning goals and scales for numerous topics in Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, and Life Science. Learning goals are written as "I can" statements. Scales allow students to rate themselves from 1-4. The number 3 rating is broken down into a number of "I can" statements to allow students to recognize where they need to be to achieve the overall learning goal. Some of the topics that are included are: engineering, nonfiction reading, scientific method, cells, heredity, evolution, forces, states of matter, plate tectonics, rocks, minerals, life cycle of stars, cellular respiration, cell cycle, Earth's spheres, speed, work, and energy.
