This Learning and Classical Conditioning in Psychology Distance Learning Activity includes:
1) A colorful and engaging graphic activity that first asks your students about the key concepts of classical conditioning. Students will be asked about topics including: acquisition, extinction, spontaneous recovery, discrimination, generalization, unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned response, conditioned stimulus, and conditioned response.
Next students will be given a section that asks your students to work with 5 different conditioning examples. Students will be given a scenario and they are asked to identify the UCS, UCR, CS, and CR of each example. This will get your students to work with more examples of classical conditioning than just Pavlov's Dogs. By the time your students are completed with this assignment, they will have a great understanding of how classical conditioning works.
This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
