This Drive folder contains everything you need to familiarize an audience with ASD -- including info on language to use when discussing disabilities, full explanations of ASD's many dimensions, and an article about a current event related to autism. Handouts are ready-to-print and Slides are ready-to-project. Hopefully this all makes your job as an educator easier!
I created these resources to use while teaching The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time to my English students. Teachers can also use this when teaching advisory to help foster empathy, understanding, and worldliness within their students. This can also be used to teach SEL to any group of students, or as staff training or professional development.

- Slideshow titled "Learning About Autism Spectrum Disorders": includes a run-down of ASD, visuals of the "spectrum," a short neuroscience explainer, discussions of what causes autism, journal prompts, and two videos of people with ASD sharing their points of view
- Slideshow titled "How to Discuss Disbility": includes an explainer on ableism, non-apparent or invisible disabilities, and lists of respectful and disrespectful terms to use when talking about disability
