Description
French word of the day worksheets to practice sight words "en français": this is a bundle of two resources with printable sheets to work on French high-frequency words. There are more than 350 student pages in the bundle so you're ready for a whole school year of daily practice.
Why use these worksheets?
Students need repetition to learn new vocabulary words. These worksheets give your kiddos structured, predictable practice. They will know what to do and they'll benefit from the work.
Students will:
→ read the word
→ color the word
→ trace the word 3x
→ write the word 3x
→ trace the word in a sentence
→ copy the sentence and circle the word of the day
→ illustrate the sentence.
These sheets are versatile–you can use them in your Daily 5 Word Work center or in any type of literacy center for French Immersion students. You can also use them for morning work, early finishers, or to leave for a supply teacher.

I'm using this in my grade 1/2 French immersion class as morning work. We just started this week. I printed out one set of all the pages and put them in sheet protectors then split them into 5 binders. I put the binders out in the morning and students complete pages independently using an erasable marker. They track their progress using the sheet provided in this ressource of all the words. The ressource contains a lot of high frequency words in the sentences and allows for all my students to be successful and challenged. I have a very wide range of abilities in my classroom, so I'm amazed by how well this is working out.

A classic resource that I will use time and time again with my first graders for morning/bell work. I find that after explaining how to use it a couple times, students get the hang of it and it gives me that extra time in the morning that I desperately need, in order to get everything organized. I love that students are able to complete these independently and they look forward to finding out what the new word of the day is! I use a mini whiteboard and write out the word of the day every morning so they know what to look for. Merci!
