What educators are saying

Loved this. My school is a World Language school so students were able to read and understand the French. Great change for celebrating African American History Month.
Great resource to use as examples for students to to their own research on a person of black Color that inspired them.

Description

This product features 24 Black Francophone women and men of influence from the past and the present, and from various career fields, including sports, politics, music, entertainment, journalism, and more.

Each person is featured on a Google slide (so it is 100% editable and adaptable to the levels and needs of YOUR STUDENTS) with a picture and a brief biography in French that is understandable to novice-high students and beyond. *Please note that ALL biographies are written in French, not English!

The intended purpose for these slides is to display them either on a screen or a bulletin board, and read together one biography during each class day of Black History Month. There are, of course, so many other things that can be done - reading challenges, memory competitions, games, etc. For higher-level classes, these slides can facilitate discussions around race, equality, poverty, and many more social justice topics of interest to your students.

Have fun learning and make your classroom a place of multicultural discussions and appreciation! The cultural jump-off points are endless and more important than ever!
