Description

Need a quick and easy sub plan? Looking for a distance learning supplement to your foods or dining out unit? Looking for a way to help your students make connections between their own experience and French culture? Want to give them practice working with informational texts in a way that's engaging and interesting? This "Le Fast-Food en France" webquest is for you!

In this activity, students will explore the websites for KFC France and Quick, a McDonald's-style fast food restaurant. In a pre-reading activity, students will consider their assumptions about French culture, which you could use as a springboard for a class or small group discussion or a four-square activity.

During reading, students will interact with three websites to learn about the Top 10 fast food restaurants in France and to compare and contrast American and French versions of fast food culture with guided questions. Finally, as a post-reading activity, students will write a short reflection on their opinions about fast food in general.

For each stage of the activity, hyperlinked websites are included to facilitate their search for information and keep them operating in the target language as much as possible. My students are always excited about this activity and it makes a great emergency sub plan...or distance learning activity!

Your download includes:
