Laura Numeroff Interactive Flipchart - Cause and Effect and Circle Stories

Students will explore cause and effect through scaffoled activities and write their own circle stories after reading Laura Numeroff texts, including:
-If You Give a Mouse a Cookie
Students will sort goods/services from the book and fill in effects that relate to given causes.
-If You Give a Pig a Pancake
Students will fill in effects that relate to given causes.
-If You Give a Moose a Muffin
Students fill in either causes or effects that relate to either effects or causes.
-If You Give a Dog a Donut
Students match 3 given causes with 3 given effects.
-If You Give a Cat a Cupcake
Students complete a cause and effect graphic organizer.
-If You Give a Pig a Party
Students complete a cause and effect graphic organizer.

Next, students are given a character and six pictures to sequence any way they choose and create their own circle story as a class. Six pages follow the graphic organizer for a shared writing activity.
