Description
Students will learn about Latin American Religious Syncretism during the 1500-1800 as a result of European Colonialism. Through the use of art and a discussion-based lesson students will examine the distinct cultures created in Latin America.
As the teacher, if you're unfamiliar with certain elements of Latin America culture, the lesson includes brief summaries and contextualization which accompany the art within the lesson. You DO NOT have to be an art historian to teach and have fun with this lesson!!
Toward the end of the lesson, it has the ability to be modified to include released DBQs from the College Board. The DBQ can be used in continue your analysis of changes to Latin American society as a result of European Colonialism.
