La Familia Spanish Family Unit: Family Tree, Worksheets, Flash Cards BUNDLE

La Familia Spanish Family Unit introduces beginning/intermediate level Spanish students to Spanish vocabulary relating to the family. It includes 28 pages of classroom work, vocabulary practice, and answer sheets in both color and black and white. This unit focuses on 24 vocabulary words pertaining to immediate family members as well as extended family, such as in-laws, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren. Because it contains vocabulary for the extended family, I use this unit with my students in 4th grade, 5th grade, and 6th grade. It would also be appropriate for students in high school (9th grade, 10th grade).

This unit includes:

⭐ La Familia Family Tree - The Hernandez Family Tree which includes vocabulary for the extended family and a reading comprehension paragraph.

⭐ ¿Quién es...? - A Hernandez Family Tree worksheet that asks students about relationships between family members. Students write answers to questions using full sentences.

⭐ Ejercicios con los Artículos Definidos - Worksheet with exercises for definite articles based on family vocabulary.

⭐ Reading Comprehension - A reading comprehension worksheet features a paragraph about "Rosita Garcia". It is followed by questions which students answer in full sentences and a True/False section.

⭐ ¿Quién soy...? - A riddle-like worksheet which makes students think about family relationships, such as “Soy la madre de tu padre -¿Quién soy? (answer) Tú eres mi abuela.” Students answer questions in full sentences.

⭐ La Familia Extended Family Word Search Puzzle featuring 24 vocabulary words relating to the family. (This puzzle is also sold separately in my store).

⭐ Flash cards in Spanish and English to practice vocabulary. Print these sheets back to back (Spanish version on one side, English version on the other) on cardstock and cut. Students can test themselves from English to Spanish and Spanish to English. (48 images make 24 double-sided cards).

⭐ Memory Game - Print the flash card files on cardstock, but print them on one side only, leaving the back side blank. Cut out the cards. Lay the 48 cards face down in a 6 card by 8 card rectangle. Students match the Spanish vocabulary card with the English vocabulary card to form a match. On each turn, a player turns over two cards (one at a time). If they match, the student keeps them and gets to take another turn. When a player turns over two cards that do not match, those cards are turned face down again and it becomes the next player’s turn. Goal: to collect the most pairs. 1-6 players.

La Familia Vocabulary: la familia, marido*, mujer*, nieto, nieta, abuelo, abuela, madre, padre, hijo, hija, hermano, hermana, suegro, suegra, cuñado, cuñada, sobrino, sobrina, primo, prima, primos, tío, tía, family, husband, wife, grandson, granddaughter, grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew, niece, cousin (f), cousin (m), cousins, uncle and aunt. ( *alternate versions of all materials are included which use ESPOSO/ESPOSA instead of MARIDO/MUJER ).

- Answer sheets are provided.

- Black and white / grayscale versions of all materials are included.

- Marido/Mujer and Esposo/Esposa versions of all materials are included, so you can choose which vocabulary words to use for husband and wife in your classroom.
