How I use "TRES PREGUNTAS" - Cultura Diaria in my upper level Spanish classes:
I will project these on a daily basis generally after a song and warm up/ bell activities in all my classes. I allow students to answer any one of the three questions to earn a “punto.” I also allow them to ask me what a work means or how something translates for the SPANISH version. I then click and reveal the answers. I do NOT allow them to use their phones or a computer! (If a question is not answered I do allow a volunteer to look it up on the Chromebook.) I generally focus on the country that we studying but random is fine too! I have many souvenirs on display in my classroom from Spain, Peru, Mexico, and Costa Rica and will ”show and tell” these as they tie in with specific questions! I will also include a “Holiday” slide as appropriate for the time of year and the “Día de Fiesta.” My goal is for my students to have a heightened awareness with regard to the culture of ALL the Spanish-speaking countries, even within one school year so that they truly benefit (in my view) in having a well-rounded cultural introduction to the entire Spanish-speaking world! Further, if it is a student travel year, I will endeavor to ensure that all the cultural questions that relate to that particular country are presented in order that my travel students might feel more culturally empowered!
