LONG RANGE PLANS 2023 Curriculum – Grade 2 - Language – EDITABLE

This detailed monthly Long Range Plan (a yearly list of expectations to be covered) for the 2023 Ontario Curriculum in language will ensure you teach all the grade 2 expectations by the end of the year.

The goals included in the plan are reading strategies, writing forms, grammar, spelling, printing, writing, character matters, oral communications and media.

The file includes two packages.

The EDITABLE package has the long range plans with the name of specific expectations (Reading – predictions) laid out monthly. You are able to move the names of the expectations to a month that you would rather teach it in or delete it. Also in this package are blank charts with subject and monthly labels and texting boxes for you to create the long range plans you want.

The second package includes four sets of long range plans. The first has the name of the specific expectations laid out monthly (Sept. – Jan. & Feb. – June) with hyperlinks to units I use. The second includes the same specific expectation names laid out monthly, but with suggested books for a read aloud, website suggestions and a brief description of how I teach and assess the expectations. The third includes the same specific expectation names with a list of the Overall and Specific expectations. The fourth includes all of the above in one long range plan. This package is non-editable.

The expectations are organized across the year so that skills that are learned in one month will help the next month’s lessons.

· links to reading resources.
