Step 1: Download the book.
Step 2: Print
Step 3: You can laminate and bound them into a book, or placed them into a binder with sheet protectors.
How do I put these adapted books together?
• Print on card stock and laminate.
• Cut on the dotted line on each page.
• Hole punch and use a 1" binder ring to hold the book together.
• Put a piece of Velcro in each empty box or circle. Put a piece of Velcro on the back of each answer piece.
WHY SHOULD WE USE ADAPTED BOOKS?
Keeping a toddler busy (and quiet) for longer than 3 minutes is certainly not an easy task. Getting them to stay focused on something while also learning is even tougher!
I created this to help kids learn new things while also playing and staying engaged. Your child will simply peel off the pieces on each page and put them back where they belong.
One of the best things about a busy binder resource is, you can take it along with you anywhere you go. You can use it for quiet time and filler activities during your day if you don't feel like doing anything else during the day; however, it is perfect for taking along with you on car rides, to doctor's appointments, on long trips, to restaurants and so on. Print a couple of pages or all the pages and have binders ready to go for whenever you need to pull one out.
A toddler busy binder is similar to a puzzle where they can take off the pieces and put them back in the right spot. The great thing about this quiet book though is that the velcro doesn’t require them to fit and maneuver the piece into a small space. They can simply place the piece close to the velcro and it will stick.
While your child is taking the pieces on and off, they are gaining both knowledge and fine motor skill strengthening. It takes a bit of force to pull the laminated paper off of the velcro!
Once you are finished you’ll have a great-looking busy binder that your kids can use over and over again.
This resource has been teacher-tested and approved, works great for large or small groups, at learning centers, as a content assessment tool. This is also excellent for kids with autism, ADHD, or other special needs.
Once you have purchased this resource don't forget to come back and leave feedback to help you gain some TpT credits! The credits build up and then you can use them off future purchases - from any seller on TpT!
