Description
This self-checking Calculus circuit practice on L'Hopital's Rule for determining Limits will give your students the extra practice they need to comprehend this topic.
There are 16 problems which include a wide variety of functions including are polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, trig, and inverse trig functions. This practice is designed to build your student's skills and proficiency on this topic.
The problems are of the type ∞/∞ and 0/0 only. If you also teach the other indeterminate forms such as 0* ∞, ∞ - ∞, and powers of ∞, please look at L'Hopital's Rule Task Cards Organizer Notes QR
If you have never used circuits, then the best way to describe them is a combination of a scavenger hunt and worksheet with the answers embedded. Students start at the first problem and after solving it, search the circuit for the correct answer, completing the accompanying problem in that section. This continues until they have solved all the problems. If they can't find an answer, then they must go back and check their work. Many problems have similar constants in order to eliminate guessing.
My students worked best in small groups or pairs, but often students are determined to do these individually which makes this great for social distancing. Fully typed solutions are included for your convenience.
Note: This topic is included in the AP Calculus CED Unit 4 Contextual Applications of Differentiation
