L'Action de Grâce French create a meal activity for Thanksgiving

This great speaking, reading and writing activity will allow your students to learn the French vocabulary associated with Thanksgiving dinner, show a preference about what he/she likes to eat, ask classmates questions about their preferences, and design a thanksgiving table or a special meal table with his or her preferred food. Vocabulary cards are provided in color or black and white and can also be copied to create a go fish game (Allez à la pêche). You can also create a concentration game with it either matching two pictures or matching pictures and words.

Students can ask friends what they prefer to eat for Thanksgiving. They can then colour the foods they need and glue it onto the table.

Students who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving can create a special meal for the family. They can draw and label foods in French from their culture on the “ma nourriture” page. They can then compare it to a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Students will enjoy sharing their personal cultural experiences with classmates.

Blank vocabulary pages are provided to be used as an assessment of language acquisition. The vocabulary page can be displayed on a smartboard to save paper. Enjoy learning about thanksgiving food in French!
