Post these around your room all at once or introduce them a few at a time. These make great lesson starters or terms of the day. On your overhead or board, give students an example of the term and have them give you a few examples of their own.
The glue to understanding an idea is more than just a definition. Having students demonstrate the term, rather than solely focusing on the definition, is what will really cement the meaning.
Example of what to write on your overhead or board:
Todays Term - Alliteration
“Sally’s shoelaces slipped.”
Give 3 more examples of alliteration.
