What educators are saying
This resource was great for my junior high outdoor education students on our knot tying unit. It is easy to differentiate this resource to make it easier or more challenging for students. The images and step by step instructions were very helpful.
This resource was a life-saver for our outdoor education field trip! My kiddos loved it and even asked me to make them personal copies to take home!
Description
Very useful for Outdoor Education, this resource will allow students to learn basic knot terminology such as the difference between overhand and underhand loops and which end is the tag end or the standing end. Students will also learn common uses of knots and the proper techniques for tying two stopper knots, two loop knots, three meeting ends knots, five securing to object knots and two other knots. I often teach the terminology and basic overhand knot myself and the disperse the other knots as circuit cards. They can be interwoven with other Outdoor Education skills as part of a "survival circuit".
