This 13 slide power point provides an overview of the geography and society of Medieval Africa. It also covers the basic characteristics of the kingdoms of Ghana, Mali, and Songhai. A video link is embedded showing the modern day trans-sahara salt trade. A student fill in the blank outline is included for note taking. There is also a blank chart included over the 3 kingdoms. The chart can pair with the power point or could be used separately for students to research using either their book, the internet, etc. You could also break your class up into groups and assign each a kingdom to research and report back to the class.
