Kindergarten and First Grade Word Problems of the Day

Are you sure you are teaching all of the different types of word problems that are required by the Common Core Standards? This file has over 240 addition and subtraction word problems.

There are 13 different types of word problems, including:

-Add to (result unknown, change unknown)

-Take from (result unknown, change unknown)

-Put together/take apart (total unknown, addend unknown, both addends unknown)

-Compare ("more" version for difference unknown, bigger unknown)

-Compare ("fewer" version for difference unknown, bigger unknown, smaller unknown)

-Three addends

Each word problem has a page sized poster with the question (in case you want to post it on your calendar wall) and a student journal sheet for the student to work through the problem and show his/her thinking in multiple ways. Also, each of the 13 different types of word problems has a different page border, so you can see they are different types of problems.

I have included directions on printing two journal pages on one page in order to save paper.
