Description
Outdoor education is an important part of the Ontario Kindergarten Curriculum. In fact, it is mentioned more than 50 times throughout the document!
Whether or not you are new to outdoor learning, this document can be used as a guide for your outdoor learning this year.
Each month features one Ontario Curriculum Expectation that explicitly connects to outdoor learning. Circle time lessons and various activities that encourage math, science, the arts and language are included for each month (September to June) that relate to the featured expectation or are seasonally relevant. There are between 5 to 8 ideas per month that can be repeated and extended depending on student interest.
There is a link to French content that can be used to help guide your focus. It matches the language goals in my French Long Range Planner. If you teach English, simply ignore this column of the month or reinforce the English language to support their learning and your French partner.
