Math Talks and Fluency Warm Up Slides

    Description

Are you looking for hands on math resources to use in your kindergarten classroom? This mega bundle includes over 1,500 pages of activities covering counting and cardinality, number and operation in base ten, operation and algebraic thinking, measurement, and geometry!

What's included? Many of the resources for each of the domains have similar characteristics. Keep reading to find out more about each resource type!

    • Teaching Slides- these are intended to be used during your whole group instruction. Math talks, teaching slides, and formative assessment prompts are key aspects of each lesson. Comes with both PowerPoint and Google Slides options! Teaching slides come with either a lesson overview page or full lesson plans.
    • Posters- anchor chart and common vocabulary terms are included to help you create a math focus wall.
    • Digital Warm Up Slides- Digital warm up slides are intended to help your students with fluency. The 4:3 ration makes it easy to copy and paste slides into the teaching slides files. Each image is saved as the background of each slide (paste using 'keep source formatting' to make sure it copies correctly).
    • Exit Tickets- with 2-4 questions, you'll be able to get a glimpse of what content students are understanding!
    • Worksheets- a full (or half) page of more opportunities to practice different math skills. These are ready to print and go with pages either needing just a pencil or including some cut and paste activities!
    • Digital Centers- different from teaching slides, these 16:9 ratio slides provide additional ways to practice kindergarten skills. With the option to use PowerPoint slides or Google Slides, you can use these in whole group or assign for students to use independently.
    • Centers- most often these are task cards. However some of the centers included have puzzles, games, sensory bins, or cards to use with pocket charts.

    Let's look at each domain!

Counting and Cardinality: In this module students will work on numbers to 10, counting sets, making sets and comparing both sets and numbers.

    • Teaching Slides and Guided Math Lessons for numbers to 10, counting and making sets to 10, and comparing sets and numbers to 10.
    • Posters- number posters, ways to count sets and compare numbers as well as terms to use and display on a math focus wall.
    • Digital Warm Ups- work on number recognition, counting sets, comparing sets and comparing numbers to 10.
    • Exit Tickets- students can write numbers, count sets, make sets, compare objects and numbers as well as compare for how many more and how many less. Print four to a page for easy printing!
    • Worksheets- no-prep! Print and go with these worksheets that cover number writing, counting and making sets and number comparison to 10.
    • Digital Centers- additional practice to themes found in counting and cardinality
    • Centers- trace and write numbers, match puzzles, and more with hands-on activities!

Number and Operation in Base Ten: This module is all about teen numbers! Students engage with number formation and recognition to 20, use base ten blocks to build sets, and compose and decompose teen numbers.

    • Posters- numbers 11-20, double ten frames, how to count base ten blocks and content specific vocabulary terms to enhance your math wall!
    • Digital Warm Ups- chose from number recognition, subtilizing double ten frames, base ten blocks, composing teen numbers or decomposing teen numbers to help your students with their fluency goals!
    • Exit tickets- with 2-4 questions per page you can see where students are on their teen number knowledge. Print, cut and pass out!
    • Worksheets- need additional activities to work on number and operation in base ten skills? These no prep worksheets are ready to be used in class or sent home as extra practice.

Operation and Algebraic Thinking: students will work on addition and subtraction to 10 by using fingers to add and subtract, draw pictures, use manipulatives and number lines, and count forward or backwards!

    Addition

    • Teaching Sides- introduce addition to 10 by acting out problems, using ten frames, manipulatives, pictures, and number lines. Engage students in mathematical thinking with math talks and check understanding with quick checks! Moveable pieces included in the slides. Students can follow along and participate with common classroom materials.
    • Posters- addition and subtraction posters introducing many strategies and terms that relate to adding and subtracting.
    • Digital Warm Ups- the perfect fluency practice! Chose the strategy you want to work on, select the problems and display for your learners.
    • Exit Tickets- need to see how your students are progressing? Print, cut and pass out the exit ticket that matches the skill you are working on. Four to a page for easy printing!
    • Worksheets- need additional practice options? There are multiple versions for each strategy. Print and pass out as an independent work time or as a home connection!
    • Digital Centers- if you need additional lesson problems, these slides have moveable pieces to work on addition to 10.
    • Centers- addition write the room and addition task cards are included.

    Subtraction

    • Teaching Slides- use moveable pieces to solve and write subtraction equations to 10.
    • Digital Warm Ups- practice subtraction fluency by selecting the strategy your students are working on.
    • Worksheets- provide additional practice with subtraction to 10 with cut and use manipulatives, subtracting on ten frames, with pictures and number lines! Use in class or send home for additional practice.
    • Digital Centers- need extra practice with moveable pieces? These slides can be displayed on the board or sent to students to complete. PowerPoint and Google Slides included!

    Word Problems

    • Teaching Slides- decodable addition and subtraction word problems with moveable pieces!

Measurement and Data: work on describing and comparing by length and height, weight, and capacity. Sort by color, shape, size, and multiple attributes!

    • Teaching Slides- interactive lessons for both measurement and sorting!
    • Posters- these anchor charts and vocabulary terms include pages for both measurement and different ways to sort. Print and use on your math wall!
    • Centers- while patterns is not included in the standards, there are pattern activities included as well!

Geometry: engage learners in shape names and attributes for common 2D and 3D shapes!

    • Teaching Slides- modules for both 2D and 3D shapes!
    • Posters- Choose from 11 shapes in 12 different colors to enhance your math classroom! Vocabulary cards for side and vertices are included.
    • Digital Warm Ups- practice the names, sides, and vertices of 2d shapes and the name, edges, vertices, and faces of 3d shapes.
    • Worksheets- practice identifying, tracing and drawing 2D shapes, identifying 3D shapes and sorting between 2D and 3D shapes. These are perfect to print and go.
    • Centers- clip cards, task cards, pocket chart activities and games to practice 2D shapes.

There are so many activities and resources in the bundle to use during your math block! Have questions? Please feel free to reach out using the Q&A tab!

Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20 (with 0 representing a count of no objects).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
