Description

This packet has word cards for important vocabulary words in the Math Common Core State Standards for Kindergarten. This will allow you to create a Math Word Wall to help expose students to this important academic vocabulary. The cards are illustrated to help students understand the meaning of each word and are color-coded by domain.

The following words are included:
In the Counting and Cardinality domain: count, number, zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, one hundred, count by tens, count forward, more, less, greater than, less than, equal, equal sign, compare numbers, compare numerals, numerals, represent a number, ten frame, five frame, hundreds chart, and equal sets. In this section, on the number cards from 0 to 20, there are two versions: one has the numeral and the number word, and the other has the numeral and tens frame.

In the Operations and Algebraic Thinking domain: addition, add, addition sign, equal sign, sum, subtraction, subtract, subtraction sign, difference, solve word problems, decompose, make ten, add fluently, subtract fluently, and equation.

In the Number and Operations in Base Ten domain: count, number, compose, decompose, ones, tens, hundreds, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty, and base ten blocks. There are two cards for each number: one shows the base ten blocks configuration and one shows the decomposition equation, such as 16 = 10 + 6 (1 ten and 6 ones).

In the Measurement and Data domain: measure, compare, describe, attributes, classify, sort, size, shape, color, sort, sort by color, sort by shape, sort by size, shorter, taller, longer, heavier, lighter, hotter, colder, more capacity, less capacity, holds more, holds less, length, height, width, temperature, mass, weight, volume, capacity, ruler, balance, scales, temperature, count, sort by count, graph, most, least, fewest, and equal.

The following shapes are NOT specifically mentioned in the CCSS, but many people introduce them in kindergarten, so they are here in case you choose to use them: oval, heart, star, diamond, rhombus, pentagon, octagon, pyramid, prism, rectangular prism, and rectangular solid.

I also have a Language Arts Common Core Word Wall Set for Kindergarten here :)

I have matching "I Can" Statement Posters for Math Common Core Standards here.
Thanks for looking and happy teaching!
