    Description

These comprehensive kindergarten science units are designed to provide you with an engaging way to teach science, even if you are short on time!

These primary-friendly units are crafted so students can be successful regardless of their reading abilities. Each unit includes an easy-to-implement lesson slide deck that keeps students engaged using interactive components. During the lesson, students complete writing, drawing, circling, and/or coloring tasks on their guided notes booklets. The hands-on activity (lab, engineering challenge, or discovery activity) uses basic materials and allows students to apply what they have learned. The simple formative assessment allows students to demonstrate their mastery of the unit.

Each unit covers one standard and includes:

    1. Unit Guide
    2. Lesson Slide Deck & Guided Notes Booklet
    3. Vocabulary Posters & Graphic Organizer
    4. Lab or Engineering Challenge or Discovery Activity (varies depending on the unit)
    5. Assessment
    6. Coming Soon! Science Read-Aloud

    Each unit also includes:

    • Teacher directions
    • Answer keys and sample work

    NGSSK-2-ETS1-2
Develop a simple sketch, drawing, or physical model to illustrate how the shape of an object helps it function as needed to solve a given problem.
    NGSSK-PS3-1
Make observations to determine the effect of sunlight on Earth's surface. Examples of Earth's surface could include sand, soil, rocks, and water. Assessment of temperature is limited to relative measures such as warmer/cooler.
    NGSSK-2-ETS1-3
Analyze data from tests of two objects designed to solve the same problem to compare the strengths and weaknesses of how each performs.
    NGSSK-2-ETS1-1
Ask questions, make observations, and gather information about a situation people want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool.
    NGSSK-ESS3-1
Use a model to represent the relationship between the needs of different plants or animals (including humans) and the places they live. Examples of relationships could include that deer eat buds and leaves, therefore, they usually live in forested areas; and, grasses need sunlight so they often grow in meadows. Plants, animals, and their surroundings make up a system.
