Junior Girl Scout Playing the Past Activity Booklet

This activity booklet was designed to fulfill the requirements for the Junior Playing The Past badge or can be used by frontier girl leaders to earn similar badges. Great for teachers and home schooled kids as well.

This booklet will take your girls on a journey to imagine what it was like to live in the past by walking in the shoes of a frontier girl and will learn more about the frontier through a fun relay matching game, and a song from frontier times. With step by step activities, you can’t ask for a easier way to run your meeting.

Activities Include:

1. Day in the life of a girl –Examine what a typical day in the life of herself looks like, then compare it to the day in the life of a frontier girl.
2. Pioneer daily life – Walk through a frontier girls life, while doing "Pioneer Activities" to let the girls walk in the shoes of someone in the past.
3. Comparing life over time – They will compare how different life today is from the life of someone in the past.
4. Learning about the frontier – Play a frontier memory card game and learn a frontier song.
