What educators are saying

Great resource! My kids enjoy playing this game as a whole group or individual. Very engaging and builds automaticity!

Description

The crazy fly of the Spanish Syllables “Valentine’s Version" included too!

Want to help your kindergarten and first grade students master the syllables in Spanish in an exciting way?

Throw out those boring posters or flash cards and download this Power Point Game! This slide show is an animated Power Point full of colors and animations with time built in (version one) to allow the students to rotate as they dance the Chicken Dance song and touch the Smart Board or screen with the fly swatter when the teacher reads aloud the syllable that she or he wants to focus. This Power Point is sure to be a crowd-pleaser! Includes 4 Files for the regular and the Valentine’s version and the recording sheet.
Improve automaticity with your students or children at home, and listen to a fun song as the slide show keeps playing (9 minutes total), or use the second version where the teacher simply presses the mouse and up comes the first pair of syllables, says aloud the syllable that she or he wants the students to identify and clicks again and up comes the second set of syllables, etc. control when to change the slide!

This is perfect for use with a Smart Board, or another interactive whiteboard. It can be used without that technology as long as you have PowerPoint, a projector, and a computer.

How to play this interactive and energetic game:

Teacher will need to have two swatters and crowns (optional) and the recording sheets printed in advance. Students will make two lines and two students will come to the front each one with a swatter and will hit the screen as the teachers reads aloud one of the two syllables from each slide.

The rest of the students that are waiting their turn in line will be dancing and paying close attention to the syllable chosen by the teacher. Once the students hit the whiteboard, they will go to the table where the recording sheet is located and highlight the syllable read aloud by the teacher and identified by the student(s).
