Journal du matin French daily activities

Help your students ready their brains for second language learning in French and provide a stress-free routine for the beginning of class. This French daily task journal provides 35 weeks of French bell-ringer tasks for your FSL students (175 activities total). Each day, students will complete a short minds-on task in their journals. Tasks include vocabulary, reading and writing and are appropriate for French language learners in grades 5-8.

This journal is numbered by week, so that you can begin using it at any time of the year! The journal is easily printed in black and white, and requires zero prep. Just print and distribute! This resource saves you valuable TIME by not having to write a journal question every day.

This resource is intended to be used independently by students as you set up for your class period or perform daily administrative tasks before you begin your lessons. The sequence of tasks was designed to be repetitive so that the tasks remain familiar and achievable.

PRINTING:

You will need to print page 6-76 of this document for each student. Regular 8.5 x 11 letter paper works well. You can print in colour, or the document will also print well in black and white. Printing the document double-sided is recommended (see your printer options for instructions.) You can bind the pages together with a binding machine(available at your business supply store), with staples or binder clip, or by hole punching the pages and inserting into a threeringfolder.

Another option is to print each week (1 double-sided page)at a time to distribute to students for their binders, three ring folder or pocket folders.

FOLLOW-UP:

Provide a quick follow-up of each activity before beginning your lesson of the day. Ask students to share their responses with the class. Provide weekly journal checks for students to ensure that they are skillfully completing each task.
