Description

Philosophy and Intent:

This lesson provides an introduction to cursive writing and signatures. Students will learn how to form the letters of the alphabet with dynamic visuals, the importance of a signature, and then create a work of art with their signature. This lesson is part of a bigger unit, Professionalism, that looks at how to be successful in the workplace.

Objectives:

  • Students will gain an understanding to writing cursive letters in order to develop a signature.
  • Students will learn the importance of a signature, especially when working with legal and important documents.
  • Students will demonstrate their knowledge of cursive in creating unique art pieces around the room.

Includes:

PPT explaining the history, uses, creation of signatures.

  • Animated gif’s of the entire alphabet for letter forms.
  • Explores signatures as art and avenue for creativity.
  • Artistic project for students to create and develop their own signatures.
