Description

This activity is a great resource to use if you're looking for something engaging and that encourages inquiry! Students will investigate the trial of Joan of Arc through this case study.

Students will first read background information about Joan to learn who she was, what she did, what she is being accused of, and some details regarding the trial. Then, they will complete some preliminary questions to build their understanding of the background information. Students will then explore the different case files (which are really just a variety of primary sources!) to draw their own conclusions about if Joan of Arc was rightfully burned at the stake using evidence from those case files to support their position!

Includes:

- Background information on Joan of Arc

- 6 Case files/primary sources that vary from quotes, images, excerpts from the trial, excerpts from texts during the time period, and a timeline

- Preliminary student worksheet

- Analysis student worksheet
