Description
I teach a World Mythology course in which I have about a week or so for each pantheon, so I really cut to the nitty gritty of the beliefs and ideals. This is in no way an exhaustive study of Japan, Japanese Culture, or even Japanese Mythology. This barely scratches the surface, but this gets your students interacting with a culture outside their own, learning the ins and outs of other’s belief systems. If you’re looking for a place to start for a larger Japanese Mythology unit, or just want to spark their curiosity or introduce another type of unit this will work for you.
