Description

This is a project that I use with my middle and high school choirs, but it could easily work in a general music setting as well. In this project, students explore the choral music website, JW Pepper. They look through choral music and select three songs that are of interest to them. They then fill out the information on the project worksheet and explain why they chose each of the three songs.

This project is a way for the students to see what goes into selecting repertoire for concerts and also gives me, as their teacher, a chance to see what kind of music they like! I will usually end up selecting some of their songs for our concerts, and whatever is not selected becomes listening activities for the start of each rehearsal.
