What educators are saying

I enjoyed this resource and using what I needed to cover the material. The kids seemed to enjoy it, and I was able to chunk it where I needed to.
I always love the high quality resources from Students of History! This reading and handout a lot more detailed information on Islamic cities than our textbook and made it easy to cover a lot of content in a short amount of time.

Description

This reading packet on Islam is a thorough overview of the cultural achievements, trade routes, and cities of Islamic Civilizations!

The packet includes a 5-page reading and 4-page reading guide worksheet for students to complete.

All of the following topics are discussed in the reading:

⭐ Geography and the Old World

⭐ The Silk Road and trade

⭐ The Qur'an and 5 Pillars of Islam

⭐ Achievements in astronomy, algebra, and mapping

⭐ The voyages of Zheng He

⭐ Baghdad, Timbuktu, and Muslim cities

The reading guide worksheet has students working on vocabulary, graphic organizers, summarizing key points, creating cartoons, and finally creating postcards based on the locations discussed in the reading.

An editable Google Doc version of both the reading & worksheets plus a complete answer key are all included for your convenience!

This packet can also be downloaded as part of my Islamic Civilizations Unit Bundle!
