What educators are saying

I used this resource to reteach irony as my original source did not get the job done. This was comprehensive and relatable for my students. It helped them better understand the use of irony and the different types.
Great review for my 8th graders during our first unit this school year. As language learners, they struggle with irony and analyzing it within a text. This helped them immensely! Thanks!

Description

Animated Irony PowerPoint presentation explains the three different types of irony: verbal, situational, and dramatic with examples of each and gives students interactive practice. Fun way to introduce ironic figurative language, and it will help students comprehend the difference. The last slide includes a link to the song Ironic by Alanis Morissette with lyrics if you would like to engage your students with this lesson on irony even more.
