Description

ATTN: IOWA TEACHERS AND ADMINISTRATORS:
Use this Iowa Assessment to guide students in test score reflections and appropriate goal setting. Simply upload this document and give students the opportunity to be accountable for their assessment effort. Follow these simple steps and watch your students become excited about taking the one of the most important tests in Iowa.
FIRST (prior to student conference)
1. Upload file
2. Indicate current grade level
3. Locate NSS scores for the PREVIOS year Iowa Assessment for accurate comparison for all students.
4. Type the scores in the first section of the form (Prev ###-###).
5. Locate the new proficiency scores for this years assessment and type them in the second section in the highlighted section (Proficiency ###-###).
Print enough forms for all of your classroom students.
SECOND (conference with student):
1. You may either choose to have the student's scores from last year already written in of have the student do it with you.
2. Have them rate how satisfied they are with their last years score.
3. Explain and discrepancies (might have to define this word for them) their may be.
4. Using the new proficiency scores, guide students in setting realistic goals for this years assessment.
5. Have them identify ways that will help them reach this goal and potential barriers.
6. Have students sign the bottom of the form in the GOAL: signature area.
7. Store in a safe spot.
THIRD (after test scores are returned):
1. When test scores are returned, conference one-on-one with students (or, if time works in your favor, at parent/teacher conferences). Have them write their new score in the space provided in the third section of the form.
2. Have them indicate if they met their goal by circling the "Y" or the"N".
3. Have them reflect on their satisfaction.
4. Student initials in the second student spot and date.
