    Description

This introduction to multiplication bundle has everything you need to introduce basic multiplication strategies to students who are just being introduced to multiplication. The activities in this math bundle make learning how to multiply fun and easy! Four multiplication strategies are presented: equal groups, arrays, repeated addition, and skip counting. Students love the activities while teachers love the convenience of these no-prep resources that can be used year after year! The bundle includes a PowerPoint, flipbook, and craftivity.

What's included... To gain a better idea of everything included, please check out the individual PREVIEW for each resource:

    49-slide PowerPoint

    • Ideal for introducing this topic to students!
    • Strategies include equal groups, arrays, repeated addition, and skip counting.
    • After each strategy is introduced, four practice opportunities are provided so that students can immediately practice each strategy for themselves.
    • You have my permission to convert this to Google Slides, if you wish.
    • It comes with a matching companion handout.

    Flipbook

    • 4 tabs: equal groups, arrays, repeated addition, and skip counting
    • Each tab consists of two pages.
    • The first page of each tab is an instructional page. An example problem is provided, and the strategy's steps are explained and modeled. The second page contains 6 practice problems where students show how they use the strategy to determine the product of a multiplication equation.
    • When complete, the flipbook becomes a valuable reference tool.

    Craftivity

    • Students need two dice to complete this craftivity. They roll the dice 6 times. The numbers displayed on the dice become factors in multiplication equations.
    • They use the products to create a multiplication monster.
    • Use this to create a fun bulletin board display that showcases your students' work!
