Introduction to Law: Lesson Plans & Activities

The Introduction to Law packet is the first part of a multi-packet law studies course created by a licensed attorney and middle school teacher who was named 2020 Teacher of the Year for Broward County, Florida. The packet includes:

• Seven (7) complete lesson plans;
• Three rubrics;
• A student interest survey that can be used at the beginning of the year;
• A 25-question mock LSAT (law school admission test) with a writing sample question;
• An escape room constitutional review game;
• Answer keys for the mock LSAT and escape room game; and
• A corresponding PowerPoint presentation.

Each lesson plan includes standards (aligned to Florida), objectives, detailed instructions, differentiation/accommodations, instructional strategies, and a list of materials/resources needed. All necessary rubrics are included in the packet. The mock LSAT is designed as a diagnostic tool for teachers to assess the abilities of their students in the beginning of the year. The escape room activity is an exciting challenge based on the popular diversion. All you will need is a few programmable locks and boxes with hasps. (You can even do a paper version with none of that). The challenge will test your students' knowledge of the U.S. Constitution.
