Description

Lesson plan and Prezi introduces key concepts in advertising including:

-- A brief history of advertising (optional)

-- An overview of the process of creating an ad campaign from research to writing to visual selection to choosing a medium

-- The legal issues that govern ads

-- The future of ads

The 22-page lesson plan is detailed and includes discussion questions and activities for students. It is color-coded to help show the distribution of student participation activities. Several activities offer variations. Separate sections at the end include suggested written assignments and additional activities if time permits.

The Prezi is not required to use with the lesson plan. However, it includes many illustrative visual examples and videoclips. Instructions are given in the lesson plan for accessing a copy of the Prezi that you can customize and organize how you wish.

The material is estimated at 4-5 hours but depending on how you use the optional material, it could be developed as a weeklong unit in a business, journalism or writing class.
