Intro to Trig Functions Guided Notes with PowerPoint and student notes sheet
Description
This is a guided-notes lesson that is meant to be teacher led. (not self-led by students) The advantage is that if frees up the teacher from the board to run around and help students with their calculators.
This can be used as a first introduction to sine, cosine, and tangent, or as a quick review.
I use it in my physics class before I start vectors.
This is a zipped file that contains a PowerPoint with 6 highly animated content slides and a double-sided notes sheet for students to work along.
The lesson has:
*Practice identifying opposite, adjacent, & hypotenuse on 6 triangles
*Space to write the ratios for sine, cosine, and tangent. (with optional SohCahToa mnemonic)
*Three step by step examples of finding the length of a side given a side and angle
*Three step by step examples of finding an angle given two sides
*Six triangles (3 of each type) for individual or partner practice with answers
This license is for one teacher’s use. I’ve set the additional license cost at only $1 to make it easier “share” with colleagues and still do the right thing.
