Description

Super fun and interesting PowerPoint project that the kids love to do!

Description:

In Sociology, there is a strong emphasis on studying the differences between adolescents and adults. Over the years, I have done it in one of two ways depending on how much time I had to spend on it:

  1. Some years I would just have students do the notes about the topics and then lecture using th PowerPoint Adolescent vs. Adult Powerpoint and Adolescent vs. Adult Powerpoint Notes
  2. In other years I would have the students do a project in which they conduct a comparative study of the two and put together their own presentation. This presentation answers a set of questions about each age group using their sociology textbook. The PowerPoint with all the directions is called Adolescent vs. Adult Comparative Study PROJECT EXPLANATION POWERPOINT and the student handout is called Adolescent vs. Adult Comparative Study project

The following product is for option 2- having the students do the project.

This PDF summarizes all the directions for the project that is to be passed out to the students, The project covers the following topics:

ADOLESCENT TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Adolescence in our society: characteristics of adolescents
  • Teenagers and dating: emergence and functions of dating
  • Challenges of Adolescence: teenage problems like early sexual behavior, drug use, and suicide

ADULT TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Early and Middle Adulthood: developmental stages of adult males and females
  • The World of Work: what is work, labor force, functions of works and job satisfaction
