Intro PPT to "Diary of Anne Frank" - Focus on Dialogue

One of my objectives when teaching The Diary of Anne Frank is CCSS RL 8.3: getting my students to understand how the dialogue of the play is essential to not only propelling the plot, but showcasing the characters.

I use this powerpoint before I begin teaching the play to help the students start thinking about dialogue as a literary technique.

Slides 6 -10: Direct instruction including definition of dialogue, conflict, characterization, dynamic/static character

Slide 12-14: Formative opportunity #2 (3 question quick check)
