Description

Throughout the year, I enrich our curriculum by inviting guest speakers to come and present to our class. I have had such people as:

A General - to talk for Veteran's Day or 9/11

Our Mayor

Firefighter

Pilot

Mexican - to learn about Mexican culture

Canadian - to learn about Canadian culture

I begin the year by having parents sign up or nominate someone that may be good to visit our class. The students and parents love interview-a-grown-up! While the presenter is speaking, students use this worksheet to take notes. I tell them how many sentences are required and adjust it as they grow throughout the year.

This is a simple, yet memorable learning activity that students, parents, (and you'll find yourself) absolutely love!
