Internet Scavenger Hunt and Make an Infographic Project
- Zip
Description
In the Internet Scavenger Hunt and Make an Infographic Project, students complete 2 different types of Internet searches, choose a topic from their search results, and create an infographic about that topic in Piktochart or Canva.
Infographics are a great way to present information and students can use them for many classes. I created this project when I discovered that few of my students knew what infographics were and no one had ever made one.
Most secondary students know how to search the Internet, but they don’t always have the persistence to keep searching until they find the information they’re looking for. Part of my introduction to this project is telling my students there’s a reason it’s called Research; they may have to search more than once!
This project is differentiated so you can use it with every student in your class, as long as they know the alphabet, can use a mouse, and have some computer experience.
Included with this resources are:
· Written project directions
· Two different Scavenger Hunts with Answer Keys. These are editable so your students can type answers into the documents.
· Dogs versus Cats Infographic Information Sheet. Students who can’t do the Internet research, such as low readers, can use this information to make their infographic.
· Editable Student Infographic Planner so your students can record and organize their facts
· 3 Example infographics
· Written help to set up an account in Canva or Piktochart
· 2 screencast videos to help students set up accounts and find infographic templates in Canva and Piktochart
· Editable rubrics for all project parts
· How to Use, Working with ELLs and Special Needs, and Grading for all students help for teachers
This resource can also be used in class or for online or remote learning; post the materials on your LMS and you're set!
My students typically need 3-4 classes to complete this project.
