Description

This includes three sets of INTERACTIVE digital fraction strips on Google Slides.

One set of fraction pieces is 10 inches long and the other two sets are 8 inches long. One of the 8 inch sets are labeled with words instead of symbols ( half, third, fourth, etc.)

These fraction strips can be used for distance learning, but are also perfect to include in other types of lessons, slides, and assignments.

Each piece is movable. The pieces can be copied and pasted into any document.

The 8-inch set can be copied and pasted into word, powerpoint, and google apps.

The 10-inch set can be copied and pasted into any google app.

In your Google Classroom, you can make a copy of either set for each student to use at home to help them solve problems.

These fraction strips can be used for any standard focused on fractions in grades 3 to 5.

There are so many different ways that you can use these!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand a fraction 1/𝘣 as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into 𝘣 equal parts; understand a fraction 𝘒/𝑏 as the quantity formed by 𝘒 parts of size 1/𝘣.
Explain equivalence of fractions in special cases, and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
Understand two fractions as equivalent (equal) if they are the same size, or the same point on a number line.
Recognize and generate simple equivalent fractions, (e.g., 1/2 = 2/4, 4/6 = 2/3). Explain why the fractions are equivalent, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
Compare two fractions with different numerators and different denominators, e.g., by creating common denominators or numerators, or by comparing to a benchmark fraction such as 1/2. Recognize that comparisons are valid only when the two fractions refer to the same whole. Record the results of comparisons with symbols >, =, or <, and justify the conclusions, e.g., by using a visual fraction model.
