Interactive Journal for Night by Elie Wiesel
Description
I use this interactive journal as the backbone of my thematic unit of Experiencing War and Genocide where we read and analyze the memoir Night, by Elie Wiesel.
This item is a foldable, printable booklet, and part of a 2-PIECE BUNDLE that includes the completed answer key in 8.5x11 sized paper (KEY Interactive Journal for Night by Elie Wiesel found here)
Students engage with this journal each class for the entire unit. I launch the unit by transforming my classroom into a Holocaust Museum and Memoria in which students fill out each page of their interactive journal with important historical context based on its corresponding station in my classroom exhibit. The last 12 pages are dedicated to the 6 different theme topic words we analyze throughout the unit. These pages are divided into sections for each chapter so that students can practice writing theme statements supported by textual evidence.
