When I was first informed that I would be teaching a study skills class, as a new teacher, I was apprehensive. With no guidance or curriculum, I feared that my students would not take the class seriously, especially with the reputation that certain elective courses had. With this in mind, I wanted to make the class as interactive as possible, in order to give the students a sense of accountability in order for them to truly learn new skills to continue to develop their academic skills. This syllabus is the first step! With technology being a huge skill that students must acquire for success during their post-secondary careers, I themed the syllabus around emoji's, so it looks like a texting conversation between two friends. At the end of the Syllabus also features a syllabus quiz, and a parent questionnaire, which can be stored for data, and to collaborate with students' lives outside of school, to keep everyone informed!
