What educators are saying

I used mostly online with 4th graders but also in small groups. It is a great resource and tool for students to use.
My students loved using this resource during our lessons. Being able to manipulate the numbers and make sense of their values helped them understand the relationship between place values.

You have options!  The chart comes in multiple versions and place value lengths.  You can display one of the charts on a Smartboard for whole group instruction while students can have their own digital copy in Google Slides on a device.  Students can also use the charts during independent work.

You will receive the following place value variations:

  • hundred millions to thousandths
  • millions to thousandths
  • hundred thousands to thousandths
  • hundred millions to ones
  • millions to ones
  • hundred thousands to ones
  • thousands to ones

Each of the place value charts listed above comes in the following formats:

  • single place value chart with x10, ÷10 and x1/10 symbols
  • double place value chart with x10, ÷10 and x1/10 symbols
  • single place value chart without x10, ÷10 and x1/10 symbols
  • double place value chart without x10, ÷10 and x1/10 symbols
  • double place value chart with comparison option

How Can You Use This?

Introduce basic place value skills by reading numbers to your students and having them form the number in standard form on the chart.

As you progress to more complex skills, use a double chart to show how to compare numbers by finding the greatest place value where the the digits in the two numbers differ.

In upper elementary, this chart is perfect for showing students how to multiply and divide numbers by powers of 10, as they can shift the digits on the chart to show how their value increases or decreases.

WHAT OTHER TEACHERS ARE SAYING…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  This has been a vital resource during distance learning. I put this on a google slide for my kids to come back and reference.  - Ashley M.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  This resource really helped my students understand the relationship between place values. Being able to manipulate the numbers and make sense of their values was a game changer!   - Caitlin M.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  One of the best resources I have found for manipulating place value and understanding powers of ten. I have even used it to help students understand multiplication and division.    - Kimberlee F.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  My students LOVE using this place value chart! It has helped SO MUCH in having them understand the skills we've covered so far this year, including multiplying and dividing by powers of 10. I pull the chart up on our interactive TV in the classroom to make it super interactive. I also send it to my students via Google Classroom, so they are interacting on their own as well. Love this resource!   - The Fabulous Life of an Elementary Teacher

Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it represents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it represents in the place to its left.
