Interactive Adaptive Velcro Book Picture Matching Preschool Baking Story SPED

This adaptive book is great for preschool or special education classrooms! This story contains interactive components that include placing corresponding velcro images onto the page and acting out movements when certain highlighted uppercase words are read!

Includes:

• An 11-page rhyming book that walks through a (simplified) process of baking cookies in a fun, interactive manner!
• 8 peel and place images to correspond with ingredients introduced throughout the book. Have the child listen out for the ingredients and place in its designated area (square) as they are read aloud.
• Color version AND black & white version
• Instructions for assembly
• Simplified instructions to be read to the child regarding how to follow along and interact with the story!

Tips & Creative activities to pair with the book:

• Pair with dough, putty, or play food! Or if you're feeling adventurous, you could even do messy play with real food (e.g. sugar, edible cookie dough)! :). Incorporate the play ingredients throughout the book. Some play ingredients ideas: Putty(dough), buttons/beads (chocolate chips), plastic eggs with balls inside (eggs to crack), sand(sugar/flour/salt), etc
• Grade the activity up/down depending on comprehension and skill level. To encourage movement throughout the book: model doing the highlighted actions (e.g. stirring motions, "pinching" the salt, etc), point out the word as you read it, and emphasize the action word with your voice (e.g. pausing, getting louder). If movement and matching the pictures is too hard, focus only on doing one at a time.
• Print on cardstock and/or laminate for extra durability

Ways to assemble:

• Binding with binder combs/spirals
• Hole punching and placing in a binder
• Hole punching and keeping pages together with: binder rings, durable string, ribbon, zip ties, etc.
• Note: It may be helpful to double check your printer settings prior to printing to ensure the product is not enlarged/made smaller. When printing, the book pages should have a small amount of white space on the top and bottom, and ~1/2 inch white space on the left side to accommodate for hole punching/binding. The 1/2 inch space has already been added in the product, so you likely will not need to adjust settings, as most standard printing settings typically will print this way!
