    Student Workbook

This workbook consists of 35 creatively designed and mathematically rigorous pages leading students through the topic of Integers - Positive and Negative Number. With investigations, explanations, model examples and a variety of tasks and problems this workbook is ideal for students to work through independently - great for absent students or those needing additional support!

    5 x Integers Investigations

How about incorporating these five investigation tasks into your lesson plans? Perfect for consolidating learning or lively warm-up activities, these investigations promise to deepen understanding and make learning integers engaging and fun!

2 x Team Challenge Task Card Activities

These task card activities are designed to get students practicing solving problems with integers (positive and negative) in a fun, competitive, collaborative and differentiated environment.

    2 x Math Maze Activities

Students just LOVE mazes, so this is great way to get students calculating with negative numbers in an enjoyable environment! Students work out the answer to the first hexagon and then find a path across the maze using only hexagons that give the same answer as the first.

    Dots & Boxes: Integers Game

Looking for a fun way to have students working with addition of positive and negative integers? Then try this Dots & Boxes Game! With a competitive and strategic element, it motivates students to complete lots of calculations as they work out their scores! It is works well as a practice task or warm up activity.

    3 x Puzzle Path Activities

These Integer Calculations puzzle path (a Scavenger hunt style) activities gets students out of their seats, while practicing their ability to solve a variety of calculation problems with positive and negative numbers. Moreover, with multiple levels of questions, it is great for a differentiated approach, as students can work at different levels of difficulty!

Integers: Operations with Positive & Negative Numbers - Differentiated Worksheet

Looking for a rigorous and engaging differentiated activity for students to demonstrate their ability to calculate with both positive and negative integers? Look no further!

    Number Lines Posters

With clear markings and bold numbering, these number lines provide visual aids for students to grasp concepts of integers: addition, subtraction, counting, and more. Whether displayed on walls, desks, or bulletin boards, they serve as invaluable tools for teaching and reinforcing numerical skills.

Understand that positive and negative numbers are used together to describe quantities having opposite directions or values (e.g., temperature above/below zero, elevation above/below sea level, credits/debits, positive/negative electric charge); use positive and negative numbers to represent quantities in real-world contexts, explaining the meaning of 0 in each situation.
Understand a rational number as a point on the number line. Extend number line diagrams and coordinate axes familiar from previous grades to represent points on the line and in the plane with negative number coordinates.
Recognize opposite signs of numbers as indicating locations on opposite sides of 0 on the number line; recognize that the opposite of the opposite of a number is the number itself, e.g., -(-3) = 3, and that 0 is its own opposite.
Find and position integers and other rational numbers on a horizontal or vertical number line diagram; find and position pairs of integers and other rational numbers on a coordinate plane.
Understand ordering and absolute value of rational numbers.
